WANA (Aug 13) – The Iranian Armed Forces have rejected U.S. statements regarding normal maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, maintaining that the strategic waterway remains under the full control of the Islamic Republic.

 

In an official statement released on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Khatam-al-Anbiya Central Headquarters dismissed American claims as “false lies” that reflect “the desperation and helplessness of the U.S. military.”

 

“The Strait of Hormuz remains under the full management and control of the Islamic Republic of Iran, just as in the past,” the spokesman stated. “No commercial vessel or oil tanker has been—or will be—able to safely navigate through this strait without the authorization and supervision of Iran’s powerful armed forces.”

 

The official added that Iranian armed forces are closely monitoring all movements by U.S. and Israeli forces in the region. He emphasized that under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s military would not hesitate to defend its national sovereignty and revolutionary ideals.

 

“Any threat, of any kind and at any level, will be met with a response even more crushing and severe than before,” he warned.

 

The spokesperson’s statement follows a separate announcement by the Persian Gulf Waterway Management Authority, which dismissed U.S. claims regarding the reopening of the route.

 

“Repeated claims and tweets by American officials regarding the unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz do not alter reality,” the Authority stated. “The Strait of Hormuz remains closed and will not be reopened until Iran’s conditions are met.”
