WANA (Jun 11) – The Iranian Foreign Minister, referring to the fact that “an agreement that can ensure the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program is within reach,” emphasized that such an agreement must include the continuation of Iran’s uranium enrichment and the effective lifting of sanctions.

“Seyed Abbas Araghchi,” the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, wrote in a message on the social media platform X on Wednesday:

“President Trump entered office saying that Iran should not have nuclear weapons. That is actually in line with our own doctrine and could become the main foundation for a deal.

As we resume talks on Sunday, it is clear that an agreement that can ensure the continued peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program is within reach—and could be achieved rapidly.

That mutually beneficial outcome relies on the continuation of Iran’s enrichment program, under the full supervision of the IAEA, and the effective termination of sanctions.”

So far, five rounds of indirect negotiations have taken place between Iran and the USA. The first round of these indirect talks between Iran and the U.S., mediated by Oman, was held on April 12 in Muscat, and the second round of talks took place in Rome on Saturday, April 19, again with Oman as the intermediary.

The third round of talks, which took place on Saturday, April 26, was also in Oman. Iran and the United States concluded their fourth round of indirect negotiations in Muscat on Sunday, May 11. The fifth round also took place in Italy on May 23.
