NYT Confirms Pentagon Used PrSM Missiles in Lamerd Civilian Strikes
WANA (Mar 30) – With one month having passed since the start of the imposed war by the United States and Israel against Iran, The New York Times has now published details regarding a Washington-led crime on the first day of the war against a school and a sports hall in Fars Province.
The American newspaper states that an examination of videos and field evidence shows that the missile known as the PrSM was used in the attack on the sports hall and school in the city of Lamerd; an attack which claimed the lives of “at least 21 civilians.”
Based on visual evidence reviewed by The Times and weapons experts, the Pentagon used PrSM missiles in the February 28 attack on civilian sites in Lamerd. The PrSM is a ballistic missile manufactured by the Lockheed Martin company.
The New York Times’ emphasis on the U.S. use of this missile in the attack on the school and sports hall in Lamerd comes as the BBC World News had reported, two days prior, for the first time on the “possibility” of Washington resorting to this missile for the raid on Lamerd.
According to today’s report, the PrSM missile is designed to explode above the target point, scattering small tungsten pellets around and causing extensive damage.
Experts say the damage patterns observed in the sports hall, primary school, and surrounding residential areas match the known characteristics of the PrSM missile.
“A United States official,” in an interview with The New York Times, confirmed that the PrSM missile was used in the attack on the Lamerd school and sports hall.
