Official Condemn of Israeli Strikes on Iran in Calls
WANA (Jun 13) – Following the recent military attacks by the Israeli regime on the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held separate phone conversations today with his counterparts from Egypt, Jordan, Italy, Kuwait, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and France, to discuss and exchange views on these aggressions while emphasizing a decisive response to this aggression.
Firm Condemnation from Egypt
In the first call, Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, condemned the Israeli regime’s attack on Iran, describing it as a dangerous driver of increased regional tensions and a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter. He emphasized that such actions pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and stability.
Araghchi, expressing appreciation for Egypt’s stance, stressed that the attack constituted a flagrant breach of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a gross violation of the UN Charter. He warned that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in line with the inherent right of self-defense, will deliver a decisive response to this aggression.
Jordan’s Reaction to Israeli Aggression
Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, also strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s attacks during a phone call with Araghchi this afternoon. He described the assault as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of a UN member state and contrary to international law and the UN Charter.
The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked Jordan for its support and emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is firmly determined to defend its sovereignty, people, and national security, and will respond appropriately to this illegal and cowardly attack.
Italy’s Sympathy and Caution
In a telephone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Antonio Tajani, Italy’s Foreign Minister, referred to the Israeli regime’s attacks on nuclear facilities, residential areas, and the martyrdom of university professors, senior military officials, and innocent women and children in Iran. He described these actions as gross violations of international law.
Araghchi called on the international community — especially the European Union — to unequivocally condemn this criminal assault, and warned that Iran’s response to the Israeli regime’s aggression would be firm and resolute.
The Italian Foreign Minister stated that, in his communication with Israeli officials, he had explicitly conveyed that such actions are unacceptable and must stop. Tajani also reaffirmed Italy’s readiness to help revive the path of dialogue in order to restore peace and stability to the region.
Kuwait’s Condemnation
Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, also strongly condemned the recent attacks during a call with Araghchi, describing them as a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and the UN Charter, and a threat to the stability of the entire region.
Araghchi, expressing gratitude for Kuwait’s position, stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will act to defend its national security and will respond decisively to this illegal aggression.
Gulf Cooperation Council’s Position
Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, also condemned the Israeli regime’s military attacks against Iran in a phone conversation with the Iranian Foreign Minister.
Referring to the official statement issued by the GCC, he described the attacks as dangerously escalating regional tensions. He underscored the responsibility of the international community and the UN Security Council to take immediate action to halt these aggressions.
Araghchi, thanking the GCC for its position, emphasized that the attack was a clear violation of Iran’s sovereignty, and that the Iranian Armed Forces, based on the right to legitimate defense, will deliver an appropriate response.
He concluded by highlighting the importance of a unified and consistent stance among regional countries in condemning the Israeli regime’s aggressions, viewing it as a clear expression of opposition to the regime’s war-mongering and aggressive policies.
Araghchi’s call with France
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart today to discuss the latest developments following Israel’s military strikes on Iran.
Iran’s Foreign Minister condemned the attacks as a blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law, citing strikes on nuclear facilities and residential areas that killed university professors, senior military officials, and innocent civilians, including women and children. He urged all governments to clearly condemn the aggression.
He also detailed Iran’s diplomatic efforts to alert the global community to the dangers of Israel’s actions and called on UN Security Council members—especially permanent ones—to respond responsibly and hold Israel accountable.
Barrot expressed regret over the rising tensions and said he hoped UN Security Council discussions would help ease the crisis.
