WANA (Jun 23) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman during their visit to Muscat, where the latest regional developments and the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States were discussed.

 

According to Omani media reports, the Iranian delegation conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to the Omani monarch. The Iranian side also expressed appreciation for Oman’s constructive role in supporting diplomatic dialogue, reducing regional tensions, and promoting peace and stability across the region.

 

A statement issued by Oman’s Foreign Ministry said that one of the key topics of the meeting was the latest progress in the Iran-U.S. negotiations. The Iranian delegation briefed Sultan Haitham on the current state of the talks and their various dimensions, while the Omani leader reiterated his support for the diplomatic process.

During the meeting, Sultan Haitham emphasized that Oman supports the negotiations between Tehran and Washington with the aim of achieving a peaceful and final resolution to all outstanding issues. He expressed hope that the talks would lead to tangible results and help address the challenges facing both sides.

 

According to Al Hadath, the Omani ruler also voiced support for efforts to restore and facilitate maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and for resolving issues related to Iran’s nuclear program, describing both as important steps toward enhancing regional security and stability.

 

The Oman News Agency reported that Sultan Haitham listened to the Iranian delegation’s assessment of the latest developments in the negotiations and wished the process success, expressing hope that it would lead to a comprehensive diplomatic settlement of the remaining disputes.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Sultan asked Ghalibaf to convey his greetings and best wishes to Iran’s Supreme Leader and President Pezeshkian, while expressing his hopes for continued security, stability, and prosperity for the Iranian people.
