Omani FM Signals Major Progress in Washington–Tehran Talks
WANA (Feb 27) – The Foreign Minister of Oman announced progress in negotiations between Washington and Tehran following a meeting with the U.S. Vice President, raising the possibility of reaching an agreement in the coming days.
Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held talks with JD Vance, during which he presented details of the ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran and outlined the progress achieved so far.
Highlighting the importance of continuing the diplomatic process, Al Busaidi stated, “I expect further progress in the coming days, and peace is now within reach.”
News sources described the meeting as “generally positive and constructive,” noting that it created opportunities for greater cooperation and coordination on regional issues.
In a related development, Oman’s Foreign Ministry announced that Al Busaidi had informed his counterparts in Persian Gulf countries that the talks between the United States and Iran have achieved significant and unprecedented progress.
The ministry emphasized that the forward momentum in negotiations between Washington and Tehran represents the main foundation and pillar for reaching the desired agreement.
