WANA (Jun 23) – Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr Albusaidi, announced that he held talks with senior Iranian officials on the recent Iran-U.S. understanding, including discussions on the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing commitment to international law and the principle of safe, toll-free passage through the strategic waterway.

 

In a post on X early Tuesday, Albusaidi said he welcomed Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, and Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, in Muscat.

 

According to the Omani foreign minister, the meeting included “constructive discussions” on the recent understanding between Iran and the United States, with particular attention given to provisions related to the Strait of Hormuz.

 

Albusaidi stated that both sides reaffirmed their commitment to international law and stressed the importance of ensuring safe and unrestricted passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

 

The remarks come amid reports that Ghalibaf and Araghchi traveled to Oman for high-level meetings with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The discussions reportedly focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on arrangements related to the management and security of the Strait of Hormuz.
