Oman’s Interior Minister Meets Iran’s President
WANA (Oct 27) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the longstanding and friendly relations between Iran and Oman, noting that ties between the two nations have always been based on brotherhood, mutual respect, and goodwill.
Speaking on Monday, during a meeting with Hamoud bin Faisal bin Said Al Busaidi, Oman’s Minister of Interior, President Pezeshkian said the two countries have consistently stood by each other through the region’s ups and downs.
The president praised Oman’s constructive regional role, particularly its mediation efforts and hosting of talks between Tehran and Washington. He said these initiatives reflect Muscat’s wise and peace-oriented diplomacy.
Referring to Oman’s clear stance in supporting the people of Gaza and condemning Israeli atrocities, Pezeshkian described it as “a deeply human and Islamic position.” He added, “As Muslims, we highly appreciate Oman’s compassion and solidarity. If all Islamic countries had supported Gaza with the same sincerity, the region would not be witnessing such tragic events.”
The president underscored the importance of unity in the Islamic world, stating that, “Based on the teachings of Islam and the guidance of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Muslims are brothers and must stand as one. By adhering to these principles, the Islamic Ummah can become a powerful force that safeguards the interests and security of Muslim nations and prevents any aggression against them.”
Pezeshkian expressed hope that the Omani minister’s visit to Tehran would further strengthen bilateral ties, adding that Iran is ready to expand cooperation with Oman in scientific, economic, cultural, social, and political fields.
Omani Minister: Iran–Oman Relations Are Deep and Sincere
For his part, Omani Interior Minister Hamoud bin Faisal bin Said Al Busaidi expressed satisfaction with his visit to Iran and his meeting with President Pezeshkian. He described Iran–Omani relations as “special, profound, and built on honesty,” free from any ambiguity or mistrust.
Al Busaidi noted that President Pezeshkian’s visit to Muscat five months earlier and the agreements reached during that trip marked a clear path toward deeper cooperation. He also commended Iran’s consistent approach to strengthening ties with Islamic countries, especially Oman, and affirmed that Muscat shares the same spirit of fraternity and goodwill.
The Omani minister concluded by expressing hope that the strong and enduring relations between the two countries would continue to grow with renewed determination, saying, “We are committed to further deepening and enhancing these excellent relations.”
