WANA (Jun 21) – Satellite tracking data reveals that the only vessels currently navigating the Strait of Hormuz are those bound for Iranian ports.

 

According to HFR, a research and analytical firm specializing in oil and gas sector investments, only ships traveling to Iran have passed through the strategic waterway since yesterday.

Meanwhile, analysis by maritime AI company Windward indicates that there is currently no vessel traffic transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

 

The maritime halt follows an announcement yesterday afternoon by the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, declaring that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed to vessel traffic due to what it termed blatant violations by the United States and Israel regarding the first clause of the signed memorandum of understanding.

 

Hours after the Iranian announcement, a spokesperson for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed that Iran does not control the strait.

 

However, the investment research firm now reports that no visible maritime movement has been observed in the waterway since the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared the strait closed.
