WANA (Aug 05) – A specialized plasma-based wound care clinic was inaugurated at Farabi Hospital in Isfahan with the attendance of the Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, the President of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, the CEO of the knowledge-based Plasma Technology Development Company, the Head of the Shahid Raeisi Nuclear Region of Isfahan, and a number of provincial officials and managers.

The “Ghadir Clinic”, as one of Iran’s specialized centers, is part of the national network of plasma wound care clinics. It has been launched with the aim of providing advanced, non-invasive treatments for chronic wounds, including diabetic, pressure, burn, and infected wounds. The clinic will use devices developed by the knowledge-based Plasma Technology Development Company to sterilize and safely, painlessly repair damaged tissues.

On the sidelines of the event, Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, unveiled two cold plasma devices and stated: “Cold plasma technology, which has been indigenized through the efforts of the country’s nuclear scientists, is an effective treatment for chronic wounds. This technology is currently available in nine hospitals nationwide, with four centers officially using it and five more scheduled to start operations soon.”

He added: “With the application of this technology, complications in patients with chronic wounds are significantly reduced. Only a limited number of countries possess this knowledge, and Iranian scientists have successfully localized it. Therefore, it does not rely on imports and faces no external risks.”

Eslami also announced: “In cooperation with the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, the largest wound care clinic in the country will be inaugurated in Isfahan within the next two months, making its services available to patients.”

With the opening of this clinic, the scope of advanced plasma-based wound care services has been further expanded in Iran, giving patients in Isfahan province access to cutting-edge treatment options.
