WANA (Jun 17) – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, announced that Islamabad has facilitated the return of a group of 30 Iranian mariners to the Islamic Republic of Iran, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to humanitarian cooperation and its willingness to provide all possible assistance to its Iranian brethren.

 

In a social media post on X, the Foreign Minister expressed Pakistan’s satisfaction in facilitating the repatriation of the 30 Iranian nationals.

 

According to Senator Dar, the group includes eight Iranian fishermen who were rescued at sea by a British vessel after their boat ran aground. The remaining 22 individuals are Iranian crew members from the vessel Lenore/Davina, which was recently seized by American authorities.

 

The Foreign Minister stated that the transit and facilitated return of both groups are expected to take place through the Port of Karachi in the coming days.

 

He emphasized that Pakistani officials remain in close coordination with Iranian, American, and British authorities to ensure the safe passage and early repatriation of the Iranian nationals to their homeland.

 

Senator Dar reiterated that Pakistan remains firmly committed to humanitarian cooperation and continues to offer all possible support to Iran.
