Pakistan Receives Iran’s Response to U.S. Proposal
WANA (May 10) – Pakistan’s prime minister announced that Islamabad has received the Islamic Republic of Iran’s official response to the latest U.S. proposal aimed at reducing tensions and ending the ongoing regional war.
Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts are continuing, adding: “Our sincere efforts are ongoing, and the army chief informed me some time ago that we have received Iran’s response.” He declined to provide further details, saying: “I cannot go into more details at this stage.”
The Pakistani prime minister also praised Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for his role in the mediation process and commended Field Marshal Asim Munir for his dedication to the matter.
According to the information released, the Islamic Republic of Iran officially delivered its response to the latest U.S.-proposed text on de-escalation and ending the regional conflict through the Pakistani mediator.
The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry had previously stated that Tehran’s views and considerations regarding the American proposal would only be shared after internal reviews were completed and the government’s final position was consolidated.
Under the proposed framework, the current phase of negotiations is focused exclusively on establishing a complete cessation of hostilities and ending the conflict across the region.
