WANA (Jul 02) – Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has announced that indirect talks between Iran and the United States, held in Doha through Qatari and Pakistani mediators, have concluded with progress on issues related to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

 

According to an official statement, Qatari and Pakistani mediators held separate meetings with Iranian and U.S. negotiators in Doha, where “positive progress” was achieved, building on discussions from the Lake Lucerne Summit.

 

The parties reportedly agreed to continue discussions in the coming period, with the next round of talks to be scheduled at the earliest possible opportunity following the funeral proceedings of the former Iranian Supreme Leader.

 

Earlier, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said Qatari and Pakistani mediators have concluded separate talks with Iranian and U.S. delegations in Doha.

 

Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said the discussions were part of efforts to follow up on issues related to a memorandum of understanding between the two sides and were based on the outcomes of a previous meeting in Switzerland.

 

Al-Ansari said the talks achieved “positive progress” on disputed issues and other matters related to the memorandum.
