WANA (Jun 23) – The Iranian President stated that Iran sought the full implementation of the clauses signed within the framework of international law and the rights of the Iranian nation. He noted that should this important matter be realised, many of the region’s problems would be reduced, and the hands of aggressors and transgressors would be cut short.

 

On Tuesday morning, prior to his departure for Pakistan, Masoud Pezeshkian referred to the goals of his trip and explained that the visit, which was being carried out at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, had taken shape after extensive efforts made by the honorable Prime Minister, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, and the entire Pakistani government to coordinate and finalize the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States.

 

Pezeshkian clarified that the process Pakistani officials had pursued to follow up on the rights of the Iranian nation had played an unparalleled role in finalising the memorandum of understanding. He added that the effort made by those officials had been such that perhaps their concern for bringing the agreement to fruition and establishing peace in the region had been greater than Iran’s own.

 

The President stated that the trip beginning that day, in addition to expressing gratitude for the cooperation of the Pakistani government, was being carried out with the aim of pursuing the continuation of the path in which all clauses of the memorandum of understanding must reach the stage of implementation within the framework of international laws and the rights of the Iranian nation, ensuring that what had been signed would be fully operationalized.

 

Pezeshkian further noted that the outcomes resulting from the implementation of the memorandum of understanding could reduce many of the existing problems in the region and the Middle East. He explained that under conditions where the unfair wars and aggressions of the Zionist regime against Islamic countries continued, it could provide the ground for strengthening regional stability and security.

 

The President emphasized that the issue stressed in the memorandum of understanding was the prohibition of aggression by the Zionist regime against Islamic countries. He expressed hope that the process which had begun would lead to the establishment of sustainable security in the region and the shortening of the hands of aggressors, a goal he described as one of their fundamental duties.

 

He concluded by noting that during the trip, exchanges pursued in the commercial, economic, cultural, security, and military fields, as well as peace and security, would be the focus of joint talks and consultations.

 

The President emphasised that the relations expanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan, as well as with other Islamic countries, including Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and other nations in the region, were being pursued in line with the approach emphasized by the Supreme Leader and remained a priority placed on the government’s agenda.
