WANA (Aug 27) – Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed speculation that Field Marshal Asim Munir traveled to Tehran as an envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, saying the claim is untrue.

 

Islamabad also described the “economic war” against Iran as part of the ongoing deadlock between Tehran and Washington, stressing that the dispute should be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue.

 

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry further said it was not aware of any specific country’s intention to support Iran’s joining the “Mecca Agreement.”

 

At the same time, Pakistan reiterated its position on sanctions against Iran, emphasizing that it does not consider itself bound to implement unilateral sanctions imposed on Tehran.
