WANA (Jun 20) – Pakistani Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has departed for Tehran to hold high-level talks with senior Iranian officials.

 

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei announced that Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi will arrive in Iran at noon today, Saturday, to continue Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts regarding the Iran-US negotiations.

 

According to Baghaei, Naqvi is scheduled to hold separate meetings and consultations with his Iranian counterpart, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, as well as Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during his official visit.

 

Naqvi has traveled to Tehran multiple times since Pakistan assumed its role as the primary mediator between the two nations. During his last official visit on June 7, he held bilateral meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.

 

This diplomatic movement follows a Thursday phone call from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian—the first official contact since the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

 

Sharif congratulated Iran’s leadership, government, and nation, emphasizing that the positive outcomes of the Islamabad agreement will benefit the entire region and serve as a powerful catalyst for reinforcing fraternal ties between Iran and Pakistan.
