Pakistani Interior Minister Departs for Tehran
WANA (May 20) – Pakistani Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has departed for Tehran to hold high-level talks with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to informed sources speaking to Iranian media.
This marks Senator Naqvi’s second trip to Iran in less than a week. The minister previously traveled to Tehran on May 16, where on May 17, he held a 90-minute private meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
During that visit, he also met with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament.
During the earlier meeting at the parliament building, Speaker Ghalibaf addressed regional dynamics and criticized the presence of foreign forces in the Middle East.
“Some governments in the region imagined that the U.S. presence would bring them security,” Ghalibaf told the Pakistani minister during their talks. “But recent events showed that this presence is not only not security-generating, but it also paves the way for insecurity.”
