Pakistani Prime Minister Holds Phone Call with Iranian President
WANA (Mar 23) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Monday that he had a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, focusing on the escalating tensions involving the United States and Israel.
Sharif shared on social media platform X: “I spoke with my brother, President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, to extend warm greetings for Eid al-Fitr and NowruzNowruz to him and the people of our brotherly nation, Iran.”
The Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran, expressing condolences for the loss of precious lives and praying for the speedy recovery of the injured and displaced.
Sharif further stressed the need to reduce regional tensions, saying: “We discussed the critical situation in the Persian Gulf, agreed on the urgent need for de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy. I also highlighted the importance of unity within the Muslim community and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive role in promoting peace in the region.”
