WANA (Apr 19) – According to available evidence, Pakistani sources consider it probable that another round of negotiations between Iran and the United States will take place by Friday.

Two Pakistani security sources told the media that the talks between the U.S. and Iran will likely occur before Friday.

They stated that their conclusion is based on several factors, including the landing of two U.S. C-17 Globemaster heavy transport aircraft at the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, near the capital, Islamabad.

Furthermore, they added that roads leading from the airport to the secure Red Zone of Islamabad have been temporarily closed, indicating intensified security arrangements.

Finally, the aforementioned sources noted that both the Serena Hotel and the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad are evacuating guests and are not accepting new bookings until Friday.

The Serena Hotel was the venue for the first round of negotiations between Iran and the U.S., which took place on April 11.

Despite media speculation in recent days suggesting a second round of talks would occur by Monday (tomorrow), no exact date has been announced by official authorities from either side or the host country.

Additionally, a Pakistani network, citing senior government sources, announced today that the date for the next round of Iran-U.S. negotiations has not yet been determined.

The Islamabad talks, mediated by Pakistan, began on Saturday, April 11, and were held over multiple rounds totaling approximately 21 hours. The negotiations were led by Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, on behalf of Iran and J. D. Vance representing the United States.

The negotiations between Iran and the United States in Islamabad concluded without a final agreement, although the two sides reached partial understandings on several issues. Iranian officials have stated that  a final agreement remains out of reach due to “excessive demands and a lack of political will” from senior U.S. officials.
