Pakistan’s Interior Minister Meets Larijani
WANA (Oct 28) – Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday in Tehran to explore ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in political, security, and economic fields, and to enhance regional coordination.
During the meeting, Larijani emphasized that relations between Iran and Pakistan could be elevated to the level of a strategic partnership. He described the strategic agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a “wise and positive step in the face of shared threats.”
Highlighting the region’s current security landscape, he said that “the region today faces common enemies and challenges, and responding to these threats requires tangible, coordinated, and comprehensive actions among Muslim countries.”
Larijani also praised Pakistan’s stance during the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, calling it a sign of shared understanding of the region’s strategic realities.
Earlier, Oman’s Interior Minister also met with Larijani to discuss broadening bilateral relations.
