Pakistan’s Interior Minister on Special Mission in Tehran
WANA (Jun 07) – Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has revealed that his visit to Tehran includes a special mission: delivering a letter from Pakistan’s Army Chief and Prime Minister to Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
Speaking after a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, Naqvi stated that the primary purpose of his trip was to hand over the special message on behalf of Pakistan’s military and political leadership.
The visit comes amid an increasingly active period of diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Islamabad. Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Saturday evening and was welcomed by Momeni.
The two interior ministers held talks for the third time in just three days, highlighting the intensive consultations taking place between the neighboring countries on issues of mutual concern.
According to the announced schedule, Naqvi is also expected to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
