Pakistan’s Interior Minister Visits Tehran for ECO Summit
WANA (Oct 28) – Pakistan’s Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, has traveled to Tehran to attend the Meeting of Interior Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Naqvi departed from Lahore for Tehran a few hours ago. In addition to participating in the fourth ECO Interior Ministers’ Summit, he is scheduled to hold meetings with his Iranian counterpart and several senior officials of the Islamic Republic.
The Pakistani minister had also visited Tehran in mid-July this year to take part in a trilateral meeting of the interior ministers of Iran, Pakistan, and Iraq.
The ECO Interior Ministers’ Meeting is being held today, October 28, 2025, at the Summit Hall in Tehran. Alongside the ECO member states, representatives from several regional countries — including the Republic of Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman — as well as regional organizations, are attending the event as guests.
During his visit, Minister Naqvi will also meet with Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
The talks will mainly focus on strengthening the security partnership between the two nations, enhancing strategic cooperation to preserve regional stability, and reinforcing their positions in today’s diplomatic landscape.
Both sides are also expected to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in political, security, and economic spheres, and to expand coordination on regional issues.
