Pakistan’s Support for Iran in the 12-Day War Reflects the Depth of Friendly Relations
WANA (Nov 06) – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, met with Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, in Islamabad on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. During the meeting, Ghalibaf expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by the Pakistani people and parliament in condemning Israel’s attacks on Iranian territory, calling it a reflection of the deep and friendly ties between the two nations.
Heading a parliamentary delegation to Pakistan, Ghalibaf said at the beginning of the meeting, “We thank the people of Pakistan for their support of the Iranian nation in the face of Israel’s aggression. These gestures demonstrate that the relationship between our two countries goes beyond diplomacy and is rooted in the friendship of our peoples.”
Referring to the recent Israeli attack on Iranian soil, he added, “Although the first hours of the attack were challenging, the Islamic Republic of Iran delivered a firm and immediate response — one that Israel had not experienced since its establishment in 1948.”

Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran and Pakistan, due to shared interests, can strengthen cooperation to counter Israel’s expansionist policies and those of its supporters. “The two countries have great potential for political, economic, and cultural collaboration, and this visit aims to deepen those relations,” he said.
Highlighting economic cooperation as a key goal of the trip, Ghalibaf stated, “Expanding bilateral trade is one of the main topics of our discussions, and we hope to take concrete steps toward achieving this objective.”
For his part, Ayaz Sadiq congratulated the Iranian nation on what he described as a “victory against Israel’s aggression.” He noted, “Pakistan’s parliament passed a resolution condemning Israel’s attacks on Iran because we see Israel as a common enemy of both our nations. The peoples of Iran and Pakistan are bound together — half on one side of the border and half on the other.”

Sadiq also announced the formation of parliamentary friendship groups to design a roadmap for enhanced cooperation between the two sides, adding that top parliamentary officials from both countries would hold detailed discussions on expanding mutual ties.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Iranian Speaker signed the guestbook of Pakistan’s National Assembly and presented his counterpart with a symbolic gift decorated with the flags and national and cultural emblems of both countries.
Ghalibaf’s official visit to Islamabad, made at the invitation of the Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, includes meetings with the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Senate, and several senior Pakistani officials. He is accompanied by Iranian lawmakers Fada Hossein Maleki, Mohammad Noor Dahani, Rahmadal Bamari, Mehrdad Goodarzvand, and Fazlollah Ranjbar.
