WANA (Jul 27) – The U.S. Department of Defense has released updated casualty figures, reporting that 18 American service members have been killed and 624 injured since the start of the conflict with Iran on February 28.

According to the Pentagon statement, recent strikes by Iranian forces account for 4 deaths and 140 injuries among U.S. troops.

Critics and regional observers contend that Washington maintains strict censorship and information control to obscure the full extent of military casualties resulting from regional engagements.

In contrast to the Pentagon’s figures, General Hossein Mohebbi, spokesperson for Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated in an interview that American fatalities have exceeded 200 following reported violations of previous agreements.
