WANA (May 13) – A senior official within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) has issued a stern warning to the United States, asserting that no oil tankers can traverse the Strait of Hormuz without Iran’s permission and threatening to turn the strategic waterway into a “graveyard” for American forces.

Captain Saeed Siahsarani, the IRGCN Deputy for Cultural and Psychological Operations, stated during a recent address that the Iranian military maintains total oversight of the region. He declared that if the people and officials so order, the IRGC will not allow even a single liter of oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without the authorization of the Islamic Republic.

Siahsarani emphasized that while full-scale naval warfare has not yet commenced, Iran has implemented “smart blockades” and remains prepared for asymmetric warfare.

Pointing to the region’s history, he noted the existence of British and Portuguese cemeteries in southern Iran, warning that the Persian Gulf is poised to become the largest watery graveyard for U.S. Marines should former President Trump or U.S. forces make a mistake.

The commander described the Strait of Hormuz as the “Strait of Islamic Honor,” noting it is managed under the direct command of the Supreme Leader.

He further claimed that nearly 70% of U.S. regional bases—including Arifjan, Al-Udeid, Sheikh Isa, and Ali Al-Salem—have been significantly degraded or leveled, contrasting current U.S. strength with the 50,000 personnel previously stationed across 17 regional bases.

The IRGCN official also highlighted the economic weight of the Strait, noting that it historically handles 20 million barrels of oil per day, one-fifth of the world’s gas, and 80% of the world’s agricultural fertilizer.

“The enemy should know that if they commit an error in the Strait of Hormuz or create obstacles for our country’s energy exports, Iran will respond with overwhelming power,” Siahsarani added.

He pointed to the past capture and humiliation of American and British marines, citing the detention of 13 Americans in 2003, 8 British sailors in 2004, and another 15 in 2006. He also referenced the capture of 10 U.S. Marines at Iranian Islands in January 2016.

He concluded by asserting that Iran would not cede even an iota of soil and remains vigilant in its protection of the Strait, which he compared to the strategic “Strait of Uhud” in Islamic history.
