WANA (Jun 12) – In response to a new resolution passed by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Board of Governors, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed Tehran’s determination to continue its nuclear activities, including uranium enrichment, and criticized Western powers for what he called ongoing “mischief” and interference.

Referring to the IAEA resolution submitted by the UK, France, and Germany, Pezeshkian said, “Today, Britain, France, and Germany passed a resolution against Iran. I don’t understand how we are expected to align with a world that constantly undermines us and refuses to let our people live independently.”

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran would not compromise on its nuclear rights, stating: “We will pursue our path. Enrichment will continue, and we will not step back from our current course.”

Paying tribute to Iran’s nuclear scientists who lost their lives in recent years, the president said that the country’s capabilities are rooted in human knowledge and cannot be erased by physical attacks.

“Even if they destroy our facilities, they cannot destroy our knowledge. These achievements live in the minds of our scientists. It is a false hope to think they can stop us,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of internal unity and regional cooperation: “We must overcome our differences, treat each other with kindness, and work together. We should also build stronger ties with our neighbors.”

The IAEA resolution comes amid heightened scrutiny of Iran’s nuclear program, with Western nations accusing Tehran of insufficient cooperation. Iranian officials, however, insist that the country’s nuclear activities remain peaceful and within its sovereign rights.
