WANA (Jun 18) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a comprehensive telephone conversation to review the latest developments regarding the recent peace accord and outline future diplomatic tracks, while emphasizing a mutual commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

 

During the call, President Pezeshkian expressed his sincere appreciation for the dedicated, responsible, and proactive efforts of the Pakistani government in reducing regional tensions and advancing diplomatic initiatives.

 

He specifically extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi for their constructive roles in the mediation process, which successfully facilitated the dialogue leading to the preliminary agreement to end the war.

 

Pezeshkian characterized Pakistan’s approach as a reflection of goodwill, Islamic brotherhood, and regional responsibility, describing it as a valuable manifestation of empathy between the two nations.
