WANA (Oct 22) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has officially communicated the law approving Iran’s accession to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) to relevant executive bodies.

 

In a letter dated October 21, President Pezeshkian notified executive agencies of the law ratifying the Islamic Republic of Iran’s accession to the CFT.

 

On Saturday, October 18, Ghalibaf officially sent a letter to Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, notifying him of the law on Iran’s accession to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, in accordance with Article 123 of the Iranian Constitution.

 

Previously, on October 01, the Expediency Discernment Council had approved Iran’s conditional accession to the CFT convention.

 

Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, praised Iran’s action in formally notifying the accession of the country to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), describing it as a responsible approach to highly sensitive issues.

 

He noted that even after the brutal aggression by the United States and Israel, Iran continues to demonstrate a highly responsible stance on critical matters.
