WANA (Jun 25) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stressed the importance of maintaining national cohesion amid ongoing regional tensions, warning that any action or rhetoric that weakens national unity ultimately benefits the country’s adversaries.

 

Speaking in Tehran on Wednesday evening, Pezeshkian described internal solidarity as the most important factor in helping Iran navigate its current security, economic, and political challenges. He said the country’s key institutions and leadership have reached a common understanding on the need to preserve national unity and confront external threats.

 

The Iranian president also accused the United States and Israel of seeking to weaken the Islamic Republic, arguing that Iran’s opponents had expected the country’s political system to collapse under pressure within a short period of time. According to Pezeshkian, however, the resilience of Iran’s military and security forces, combined with public support, prevented such a scenario from materializing.

 

He further claimed that Iran’s adversaries had attempted to create instability in border regions and support separatist groups in an effort to undermine domestic order. Those efforts, he said, had failed and instead contributed to greater national solidarity.

 

Emphasizing Iran’s Regional Role

Pezeshkian said Iran is now recognized as an influential regional power and argued that external pressure has not diminished the country’s standing.

 

Referring to the role of Iran’s armed forces in recent developments, he praised what he described as the country’s resistance to foreign pressure and insisted that the Islamic Republic would not retreat from its positions in the face of threats.

 

Expanding Cooperation with Neighbors

The president also highlighted his administration’s efforts to strengthen relations with neighboring countries and the broader Muslim world, describing regional cooperation as a key pillar of Iran’s foreign policy.

 

Referring to a recent visit to Pakistan, Pezeshkian said both Pakistani officials and the public had expressed strong support for Iran. He added that several countries in the region have signaled their readiness to expand cooperation with Tehran.

 

His remarks come as Iran seeks to deepen ties with neighboring states while facing growing Western pressure and continuing regional tensions.

 

Focus on Economic Challenges

Pezeshkian also underscored the need to address domestic economic concerns, saying his government remains committed to tackling poverty, unemployment, and inequality.

 

He called on academics, investors, entrepreneurs, and experts to contribute ideas and solutions for the country’s development, stressing that his administration aims to advance economic growth and address national challenges in an atmosphere of stability, dignity, and regional cooperation.
