WANA (Aug 08) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a statement condemning the historical U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, using the anniversary of the events to criticize current American foreign policy and military doctrine.

In a post published on social media platform X, Pezeshkian characterized the 1945 nuclear strikes as being “among the greatest crimes against humanity.”

The Iranian President urged the international community to reject the underlying policy mindset in Washington, asserting that similar rhetoric continues to pose a threat to sovereign nations and civilian infrastructure today.

“Those who reject that horror must also condemn the same mentality in Washington that today threatens to wipe out nations and destroy civilian infrastructure,” Pezeshkian wrote, concluding his message with the phrase, “Never again.”
