Pezeshkian Condemns US Action at World Cup, Blams ‘MAGA Playbook’
WANA (Jul 08) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian took to social media on Wednesday to strongly criticize the U.S. government’s conduct as host of the FIFA World Cup, drawing a direct parallel between Washington’s sports management and its broader foreign policy.
In a post published on X (formerly Twitter), Pezeshkian stated that the behavior of the American administration reflects its traditional diplomatic strategy of bending international rules, bullying rivals, creating obstacles for others, and cheating.
“This is their MAGA playbook,” Pezeshkian wrote, referencing the “Make America Great Again” political slogan. He warned that Tehran would not tolerate such maneuvers, adding, “Iran rejects such games. We stand firmly for our rights.”
