WANA (Jun 23) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian departed for Pakistan on Tuesday for a one-day official visit, a trip carrying both diplomatic significance and symbolic meaning.

 

The president traveled aboard the special aircraft “Minab 168,” named in memory of the 168 students killed at a school in Minab during the recent conflict involving attacks by the United States and Israel. The visit is intended to honor the victims of the war and express gratitude for the support shown by the Pakistani government and people toward Iran.

 

Speaking about the objectives of the trip, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, said that President Pezeshkian would convey a message of appreciation from the Iranian nation, government, armed forces, and the families of those killed in the recent war to Pakistan’s leadership and people.

 

According to the ambassador, Pakistan’s support for Iran over the past year has been significant, and Tehran views Islamabad as one of its key partners during recent regional developments.

 

During his stay in Islamabad, the Iranian president is scheduled to meet with senior Pakistani officials. Discussions are expected to focus on expanding political, economic, and regional cooperation, as well as strengthening bilateral relations across multiple sectors.

 

The visit comes as Tehran and Islamabad have increasingly emphasized closer cooperation and regional coordination in recent months, with officials on both sides expressing hope that the talks will open a new chapter in relations between the neighboring countries.
