WANA (Aug 15) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized Iran’s strong commitment to expanding all-round relations with India, expressing Tehran’s readiness to take more effective steps toward bolstering bilateral ties and serving mutual interests.

 

In a congratulatory message sent to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, President Pezeshkian highlighted the anniversary as an opportune moment to deepen and broaden the long-standing, multi-faceted partnership between the two nations.

 

“Undoubtedly, the deep historical, cultural, civilizational, and people-to-people bonds between our two nations constitute a valuable asset for outlining brighter horizons in bilateral relations based on shared interests,” Pezeshkian stated.

 

Reaffirming the Islamic Republic’s intent to further fortify ties with New Delhi, the Iranian president noted: “The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready, in the light of mutual trust and respect, and by leveraging vast existing capacities, to take more effective steps to strengthen relations between the two countries and ensure the mutual interests of both nations.”

 

Closing his message, President Pezeshkian prayed for the continued prosperity, progress, and success of India and its people, while expressing hope for the further flourishing and strengthening of the historic Iran-India friendship.
