WANA (Sep 08) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has responded to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, stressing that while Iran opposes war, it will firmly defend the interests and rights of the Iranian people against any aggression.

In a post on X, Pezeshkian said the Islamic Republic of Iran has always opposed war and considers protecting the interests of its people and regional security dependent on avoiding escalation and conflict.

He added that, just as Iran has so far stood up firmly in defense against aggression, it will continue its resistance until the aggressors fully regret their actions. Pezeshkian also stressed that the Iranian government considers itself a guardian of the rights of the Iranian people.

The statement came after Trump made threatening remarks against Iran. In response, Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that Tehran will not back down from defending its national interests and security in the face of pressure and threats.

Pezeshkian also reiterated Iran’s opposition to war, emphasizing that regional security and the protection of people’s interests depend on preventing further escalation and military confrontation.
