WANA (Jun 30) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed that any understanding between Tehran and Washington must be based on mutual commitment, saying Iran will fully implement its obligations if the United States remains committed to the agreement.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stressed that Iran’s commitments to its understanding with the United States depend on Washington’s adherence to the agreement, reaffirming that reciprocity remains the foundation of any deal between the two countries.

In a post published on X early Tuesday, Pezeshkian wrote: “An understanding is a two-way commitment. If the U.S. side remains committed to the memorandum of understanding, we will also fulfill our obligations.”

The president also outlined Tehran’s approach toward external pressure and threats, saying Iran’s response to what he described as “unreasonable rhetoric and baseless threats” would continue to be guided by rational decision-making and respect for human dignity.

He added that while adhering to these principles, Iran would firmly and decisively defend its national interests and rights whenever necessary.

Pezeshkian’s remarks come as diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States continue. Tehran has consistently maintained that any progress in bilateral understandings depends on both sides honoring their commitments and avoiding unilateral actions.
