WANA (Sep 28) – On Sunday evening, September 28, 2025, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed a cabinet meeting, outlining the achievements and outcomes of his recent trip to New York and meetings with officials from various countries.

Emphasizing what he described as America’s “irrational and bullying behavior” in response to Iran’s sincere efforts to reach a fair solution on the nuclear issue, Pezeshkian stated: “As the Qur’an repeatedly teaches, those who break promises and act with arrogance will never be satisfied with us unless we submit to their will. This will never happen.”

The president stressed that Iran’s path is one of resistance, reliance on the people, and moving with dignity toward a brighter future. He added that with broad and constructive engagement with neighboring and friendly countries, Iran’s adversaries would never achieve their goals or illusions. “The country is prepared to face any circumstances,” he said, “and the well-being and livelihoods of the people remain the central focus of the government.”

Pezeshkian also pointed to the U.S.’s failed attempts to obstruct Iran’s exports at the height of sanctions and war. He noted that many countries without oil and gas resources have still pursued development vigorously. Likewise, the Islamic Republic, by relying on its experts, elites, and national solidarity, can reduce its dependence on oil revenues, meet domestic needs, and press ahead with development programs.

Underscoring Iran’s principles of dignity and independence, Pezeshkian declared: “Faced with the choice between surrendering to bullies and maintaining dignity through reliance on our people, we will certainly choose the second path. As in the past, when the Iranian nation turned crises into opportunities, this time too, through solidarity and determination, we will lead the country toward growth, progress, and greater prosperity.”

He reaffirmed that any sanctions or restrictions are unacceptable: “We have been present at the negotiating table until the very last moment, seeking clarity and a fair, logical solution. Unfortunately, the other side takes a domineering approach, wanting to take everything we have in exchange for a few months of relief, only to raise new demands afterward. Such an approach will never be accepted. We will proudly continue on our dignified path.”

In conclusion, President Pezeshkian recalled the Supreme Leader’s explicit religious decree forbidding nuclear weapons, stressing that Iran’s stance is transparent:

“We have never sought to acquire nuclear weapons, and this commitment is rooted not just in officials’ statements, but in our religious principles. We are always ready for rational and fair dialogue based on clear criteria, but we will never accept negotiations that entangle us in new problems.”
