WANA (Jun 18) – President Pezeshkian has hailed a newly signed agreement between Iran and the United States as a “historic document and a message from a powerful Iran.”

 

Sharing the English version of the signed accord on the social media platform X, the Iranian President stated that this is a historic document and a message from a powerful Iran, emphasizing that peace will be achieved in the shadow of mutual respect.

 

He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains consistently committed and adherent to global peace, while preserving its dignity, independence, progress, and regional cooperation.

 

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, also in a separate post, released the Persian text of the newly signed Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, marking the first time a U.S. president has signed such an agreement with Iran.

 

“This text reflects the voice of a nation that never traded its dignity and independence under any threat or pressure,” Pezeshkian stated. “What was recorded today is the result of national resilience, political rationality, and responsible diplomacy.”

 

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian digitally signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) ending the war between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States in the early hours of Thursday, June 18, 2026. The agreement entered into force simultaneously with the signature of U.S. President Donald Trump.
