WANA (Jun 16) – In a phone call with Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on Monday afternoon, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack and emphasized Iran’s readiness and determination to defend itself, warning of severe consequences in the event of future aggression. He also stated that enemies have miscalculated Iran’s strength.

 

Speaking during the call, President Pezeshkian thanked Sultan Haitham for his condolences and solidarity following the attack, and underlined the importance of strengthening regional cooperation and friendly relations.

 

He stated that enemies mistakenly believed that by assassinating military commanders and scientists and bombing civilian homes, they could destabilize Iran and prevent a response. “Thanks to the wisdom of the Supreme Leader, swift deployment of commanders, and the immediate readiness of our armed forces, the enemy was struck the same night and suffered heavy losses,” he declared.

 

Pezeshkian acknowledged Oman’s constructive role in past nuclear negotiations and noted that recent diplomatic efforts aimed at confidence-building and transparency were underway, with Muscat playing a crucial mediating role. He also revealed that during these talks, U.S. officials had openly acknowledged their control over Israel, stating the regime would not act against Iran without U.S. consent.

 

The president stressed that while Iran has consistently reaffirmed its commitment to non-proliferation, its strategic policies, and cooperation with the IAEA, Israel violated all international norms by launching an attack that resulted in the martyrdom of several Iranian scientists, commanders, and civilians. He asserted that such criminal acts could not have occurred without the green light from Washington.

 

“Enemies misjudged the capacity, strength, and unity of the Iranian people,” Pezeshkian said. “They do not know Iran. They thought their attacks would weaken us and that we would not retaliate—but they were gravely mistaken. Our response was immediate, and if aggression continues, the retaliation will be even harsher.”

 

He reiterated the government’s commitment to avoiding war and violence, emphasizing that Iran has worked to foster respectful and cooperative relations with neighboring and Muslim nations during his administration.

 

Pezeshkian also described Iran’s internal unity as a national asset, saying that the recent attack not only failed to divide the people but actually brought them together—even those critical of the government stood united in defense of the nation.

 

Warning of the dangers of further Israeli provocations, Pezeshkian stated that if the U.S. does not restrain “this rogue regime,” Iran will be compelled to deliver even heavier and more painful responses than before.

 

He affirmed Iran’s support for dialogue based on justice, national rights, and international law, but stressed that negotiations cannot take place under threats and aggression. “Iran will stand firm in defending its rights and will be supported by its Muslim brothers,” he said.

 

Highlighting growing solidarity among Muslim nations, Pezeshkian expressed hope that this unity would lead to greater peace, justice, and dignity across the region.

 

In response, Sultan Haitham of Oman expressed his deep condolences over the loss of Iranian commanders, scientists, and civilians. He strongly condemned the Israeli attack and reiterated Oman’s unwavering support for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

He also voiced concern over efforts by hostile forces to derail regional peace and emphasized that Oman will continue to pursue a path of wisdom and solidarity with friendly and brotherly nations.
