WANA (Aug 10) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has revealed details of his seven-hour meeting with Iran’s Supreme Leader, saying that the central message of the talks was the need to preserve national unity and cohesion amid external pressures and challenges.

Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with political parties and groups, Pezeshkian said the extensive discussions covered a range of national issues, including people’s livelihoods, market conditions, employment, housing, the impact of sanctions, and ways to strengthen the country’s resilience.

Pezeshkian also spoke about the Supreme Leader’s physical condition during the meeting, saying that he was in good health and fully engaged throughout the discussion.

“The meeting was very good. We talked about everything and raised all of our concerns and the issues we are facing,” Pezeshkian said. He added that the Supreme Leader listened carefully, discussed various issues with the officials present and offered his guidance.

Pezeshkian said the fact that the Supreme Leader was able to sit with them and discuss issues for seven to eight hours demonstrated that he was in good physical and mental condition. He described the meeting as a productive opportunity to discuss the country’s challenges and receive the Supreme Leader’s guidance.

He said the most important recommendation from Iran’s Supreme Leader was maintaining unity, stressing that “nothing is more important than unity under the current circumstances,” as he described attempts to create divisions inside the country as one of the main objectives of Iran’s adversaries.

Pezeshkian added that the meeting also focused on the country’s approach to confronting external pressures, the role of public support, and the importance of preserving national cohesion.

The Iranian president said differences of opinion could exist within the country, but emphasized that Iran should present a united position on the international stage.

“Inside the house, we may discuss different issues and have different views, but outside, the world should hear one voice and see one position,” Pezeshkian said, adding that the Iranian people stand together in defense of their independence, dignity and national values.

Addressing the public, Pezeshkian acknowledged the difficulties facing citizens and said the government remains aware of existing shortcomings under the current circumstances.

“We are fully committed to serving the people, and they can be assured that we will do everything within our ability and will not fall short in our efforts,” he said.
