WANA (Jun 24) – Following the announcement of a ceasefire after a 12-day conflict between Iran and the Israeli regime, Masoud Pezeshkian, a prominent Iranian political figure and presidential candidate, issued a formal message addressing the Iranian nation.

 

In this statement, he praised the resilience of the Iranian people, condemned the aggression of the Israeli  regime, and emphasized the historic significance of what he described as a national victory. Below is the full English translation of his message:

 

“In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

 

With salutations to the pure soul of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, and to the martyrs of our beloved Iran,

And with prayers for the health and long life of the Supreme Leader,

 

Dear compatriots, noble and courageous people of Iran,

 

Today, following your brave and unwavering resistance, we witness a ceasefire and the end of a 12-day war that was imposed on the Iranian nation by the adventurism and warmongering of the Zionist regime. Throughout these days, the world observed the strength of Great Iran — a nation empowered by the support of its people. While the terrorist enemy instigated this imposed war, it was the will and determination of the great Iranian people that brought it to an end.

 

This terrorist assault began under hollow and repeated pretexts, coinciding with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s diplomatic efforts to clear up misunderstandings on the international stage through negotiation. This came at a time when the world clearly witnessed Iran’s coherent positions and coordinated decision-making, in contrast to the contradictions and disarray on the other side. History will not forget the treachery and broken promises of Iran’s enemies, who resorted to aggression even as talks were underway.

 

Today, the aggressor has been forced to halt its war-making under the weight of a severe and historic punishment. Though the loss of precious lives — including women, children, scientists, and valiant military commanders — and damage to parts of our infrastructure is a deep wound to our homeland, the losses suffered by the enemy, despite massive media censorship, are beyond imagination. The aggressor failed to achieve its malicious goals of destroying facilities, eroding nuclear expertise, and inciting social unrest. In contrast, the collapse of the myth of the Zionist regime’s invincibility and the wide-scale destruction of key facilities within occupied territory have sent a powerful message to the world: the cost of adventurism against the great nation of Iran is immense.

 

To the Great Nation of Iran:

 

We are indebted to your resistance and resilience, and we deeply believe that this victory is the result of the unity, calm, and cohesion that emerged during these critical days. We must work to preserve this precious solidarity — our greatest national asset. All the honor of this historic victory belongs to you, the great and civilization-building people of Iran. Had the treacherous enemy paid better attention to your history and identity, it would have never committed such a grave mistake. Together — with your help — we now move forward to build a better tomorrow, a brighter future, and a stronger Iran.

 

As a humble servant of the Iranian people, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dear nation — and especially to the brave members of the Armed Forces, including the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Police (FARAJA), the Basij, the Ministry of Intelligence, and the Ministry of Defense. I also thank firefighters, the Red Crescent, healthcare workers, shopkeepers (especially in the service sector), the media, artists, athletes, and political and civil society activists who played a lasting role in this decisive historical moment. Starting today, all government bodies, ministries, and revolutionary institutions will focus their full attention on rebuilding and compensating for the damage endured by the victims. By identifying strengths and weaknesses from this trial, they will maintain full vigilance and readiness while restoring normalcy across the country.

 

To our neighbors and regional partners, I reaffirm that we are deeply committed to peaceful coexistence and stability. The defensive strength of Islamic Iran has always served peace and friendship among Muslim brothers and historical neighbors — and will continue to do so. With wisdom and prudence, we can foil the ill-intentions of those who seek to sow division among us.
