Pezeshkian to Visit Armenia and Belarus
WANA (Aug 16) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will head a high-ranking delegation on a two-day trip to Armenia and Belarus starting Monday, August 18. According to Mehdi Sanaei, Deputy Chief of Staff for Political Affairs, the visit aims to expand bilateral relations, strengthen economic and trade cooperation, and sign new agreements between Iran and the two countries.
The President’s trips to Yerevan and Minsk were initially scheduled for early July but were postponed due to adjustments in the agenda and are now back on track.
Observers say the visit could help deepen Iran’s political and economic ties with regional partners and members of the Eurasian Economic Union, creating new opportunities for joint cooperation.
In addition, President Pezeshkian has been officially invited by the Chinese government to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Beijing this September, where key issues such as regional security, economic cooperation, and political convergence among member states will be discussed.
