WANA (Dec 08) – The Iranian Embassy in Ashgabat has announced that President Masoud Pezeshkian will travel to Turkmenistan in the coming days.

Following Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei’s announcement yesterday about Pezeshkian’s upcoming visits to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Mojtaba Rouzbehani, Iran’s ambassador to Turkmenistan, confirmed today that the president will visit Turkmenistan shortly.

The Iranian Embassy in Kazakhstan also announced that, at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President Pezeshkian will make an official bilateral visit to Kazakhstan on December 10–11, 2025.

He will be accompanied by a high-ranking political delegation as well as a team of businessmen and economic officials. During the visit, several important bilateral cooperation agreements are expected to be signed at the highest level.

Earlier, on November 18, 2025, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi had announced at the Caspian Coastal Governors’ Conference in Rasht that President Pezeshkian would visit both Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan within a month.

This will be President Pezeshkian’s first visit to Kazakhstan, responding to President Tokayev’s invitation extended on June 5, 2025. According to Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, over 20 agreements covering economic, cultural, and agricultural cooperation are expected to be signed during the visit.

Last year, Pezeshkian also traveled to Turkmenistan to participate in the 300th anniversary commemoration of Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy and the international conference “Interconnections of Times and Civilizations – Foundations for Peace and Development.” During that visit, he held meetings with the presidents of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.
