Pezeshkian: We Will Rebuild Nuclear Facilities Stronger Than Before
WANA (Nov 02) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran’s nuclear industry is dedicated to peaceful, civilian uses and denied that Tehran seeks nuclear weapons, adding that damaged nuclear facilities “will be rebuilt — again, and more powerfully.” He insisted the program’s purpose is to meet public needs and raise national welfare, not to produce arms.
Pezeshkian emphasized that nuclear science is in Iranian scientists’ minds, and by destroying the buildings and factories, it will not be disrupted.
Speaking at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), where he toured an exhibition of nuclear advances in health, medicine, and radiopharmaceuticals, Pezeshkian reiterated that biased foreign narratives have wrongly equated “nuclear” with atomic weapons. He stressed that the fatwa of the Supreme Leader deems the use of nuclear bombs forbidden, and that Iran’s scientific efforts are aimed at civilian benefits.

“Only a tiny fraction of this field’s potential — the inhumane, distorted outcome of weaponization — would be bomb-making. The rest serves essential human needs,” he said, adding, “Science lives in the minds of our scientists. If buildings and factories are destroyed, it will cause no lasting harm — we will build them again, and more powerfully.”
Pezeshkian highlighted Iran’s leading role in producing radiopharmaceuticals, arguing that the sector contributes to national wealth and global market participation. He warned that hegemonic powers try to deny independent nations access to advanced technologies to keep them dependent on imported, expensive medicines.
The president called for strategic planning, professional marketing, and expansion of exports alongside meeting domestic needs, saying quality and fair pricing could make Iranian products competitive internationally.

He condemned the assassinations of Iranian scientists, saying such acts reflect major powers’ fear of Iran’s scientific independence. “We have repeatedly stated that building nuclear weapons is not on our agenda — they know this — yet false claims are used to hinder our progress,” he said, urging continued domestic innovation.
Pezeshkian also pointed to the wide civilian applications of nuclear technology in health, agriculture, water management, and the environment, and criticized failures in communicating these peaceful uses to the public. He urged the creation of effective mechanisms for promoting and marketing Iran’s nuclear-derived products.

On national resources, he criticized the wasteful burning of fossil fuels and called on scientists and universities to develop value-added solutions. He emphasized the role of fourth-generation universities — problem-focused, interdisciplinary institutions — in addressing major national challenges and urged nuclear experts to broaden their work into sectors like water and agriculture.
Reiterating government backing, Pezeshkian said: “The administration will fully support the peaceful development of the nuclear industry. With scientific effort and precise planning, we can increase our share of the global market. We value our scientists and will work together for Iran’s advancement.”
Eslami, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) during this visit noting the construction of 8 new nuclear power plants in Iran stated: “We have pursued a new agreement between the governments of Iran and Russia, under which four power plants will be built in Bushehr and four others in different parts of the country, the locations of which will be announced later by the Iranian government, in cooperation with the Russian government.”
