WANA (Jun 11) – The Persian Gulf Waterway Authority (PGSA) has announced that the strategic Strait of Hormuz will remain completely closed to all maritime traffic until further notice, following severe regional escalations.

 

The authority cited the recent military tensions initiated by American forces in the region and the official directives issued overnight by the Iranian Armed Forces as the reasons for the indefinite lockdown.

 

In an official statement, the PGSA requested immediate compliance from the maritime sector: “In light of the tensions created by aggressive U.S. forces in the region and following last night’s announcement by the Iranian Armed Forces, the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until further notice.

 

All transit applicants who have previously received passage permits are requested to remain patient and await future guidance from the PGSA.”
