WANA (Sep 03) – The UK Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser held a telephone conversation with Ali Larijani this evening on the nuclear negotiations and the so-called “snapback” mechanism.

Jonathan Powell, the Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser, spoke with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, on Wednesday (September 3) about the resumption of nuclear talks and ways to address the issue of the so-called “snapback” mechanism. Both sides agreed to continue consultations in order to manage nuclear issues through negotiations.

Yesterday, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council wrote on the X platform: “The path to negotiations with the United States is not closed. The Americans only talk about negotiations but do not come to the table, while wrongly claiming that the Islamic Republic refuses to negotiate! In fact, we seek rational negotiations. They, however, raise issues they themselves know are unattainable—such as restrictions on missiles—essentially putting forward a model that makes negotiations impossible.”
