WANA (Mar 19) – Following joint U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iranian oil facilities in Asaluyeh and electricity facilities in different cities of Iran, while power outages were quickly restored, military officials warned of retaliatory operations targeting critical infrastructure.

Analysts highlighted that Iran could target critical Israeli electricity infrastructure as a retaliatory action, potentially causing major disruptions. Five Israeli power plants that supply more than half of Israel’s electricity are as follows:

1. Orot Rabin Power Plant (Haifa): Nearly 3,000 MW, operated by Israel Electric Corporation.

2. Rotenberg Power Plant (South Israel): Approximately 2,300 MW, a major electricity provider.

3. Hagit Combined-Cycle Power Plant: Around 1,500 MW, located in northern Israel.

4. Ashkelon Dual-Fuel Power Plant: Close to 1,000 MW, runs on gas and fossil fuels.

5. Dalia Power Plant (near Jerusalem): About 900–1,000 MW, one of the newer facilities.

Analysts note that disruption to these five key plants could significantly affect Israel’s national electricity grid, highlighting the potential strategic impact of Iranian countermeasures.
