PressTV Hebrew Officially Launched
WANA (Nov 25) – The official account of PressTV on the social platform X announced yesterday that “PressTV Hebrew” has formally begun its operations, marking the start of the network’s news production and broadcasting in the Hebrew language.
In its initial phase, PressTV Hebrew will focus primarily on a concentrated presence across social media platforms, publishing news, analyses, and multimedia content tailored for Hebrew-speaking audiences.
According to the IRIB World Service, the main mission of this new platform is to “provide Hebrew-speaking audiences with access to independent and reliable narratives about regional and global developments.” Given the extensive restrictions and widespread censorship in the Hebrew-language media landscape in recent years, this initiative is expected to offer a new pathway for direct access to diverse information and perspectives.
Ahmad Norouzi, Deputy Chief of IRIB’s World Service, stated in an official message delivered in Hebrew that during the recent conflict with Iran, “the Israeli regime imposed the highest level of censorship on Hebrew-language media. They fear the public becoming aware of the realities, and PressTV Hebrew will shed light on the hidden truths.”
PressTV’s Hebrew service has outlined broad plans for producing short videos, analytical programs, and exclusive reports. The development of an independent website and the exploration of transforming the service into a full television channel have also been announced as part of its long-term objectives.

Iran Speaks in Hebrew
WANA (Nov 14) – About two months ago, right at the start of the Hebrew New Year, something unusual happened on one of Iran’s live state-TV broadcasts. On the Ofogh channel, the host stood facing the camera and told viewers: “Today was the beginning of the Jewish New Year, and they all gathered in […]
The launch comes after the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution approved a new resolution obligating the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) to establish an international television network in Hebrew. The resolution—titled “National Cultural, Social, Media, Scientific, and Technological Policies and Measures Relevant to the Country’s Special Conditions”—was ratified in a session chaired by President Masoud Pezeshkian, who also heads the council.
According to the resolution, the creation of a Hebrew-language network aims to provide “appropriate action and response to the media propaganda of Israel and its affiliated outlets.” The fourth article further states that “experts and scholars in related fields will also be directed toward supporting the needs of the security and military sectors.”
The establishment of the Hebrew-language network comes just months after the 12-day conflict between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel, a period during which media tensions and propaganda efforts intensified significantly on both sides.
