WANA (Jul 12) – Official reports say enemy projectiles have struck parts of Iran’s Khuzestan Province, while explosions have been heard across several locations along the country’s southern coastline. At the same time, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had carried out strikes on several locations inside Iran.

Valiollah Hayati, Deputy Governor for Security and Law Enforcement in Khuzestan Province, said the cities of Abadan, Mahshahr, and Hendijan were hit by enemy projectiles. He stated that emergency responders and assessment teams have been deployed to evaluate the situation on the ground.

Hayati said authorities are still assessing the extent of the damage and any possible casualties. Additional information will be released after field investigations are completed. He also urged the public to rely only on official sources for updates and to avoid spreading unverified information.

Meanwhile, residents reported hearing multiple explosions along the coastlines of Hormozgan and Bushehr provinces. Explosions were heard in Sirik, Minab, Bandar Abbas, Asaluyeh, and Bandar Dayyer. Similar reports also emerged from the southeastern cities of Chabahar, Konarak, and Jask.

The governor of Qeshm said that, as of 3:25 a.m., no impacts had been recorded on the island and that the sounds appeared to be coming from offshore. The governor of Minab also said that, as of 3:45 a.m., no explosions had occurred in the city and that the sounds originated from the sea.

Reports from Jask indicated that 12 to 13 explosions were heard between 3:00 a.m. and 4:45 a.m., although the source of the blasts has not yet been officially identified.

The developments came hours after Iran’s Armed Forces announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and reported targeting what they described as a non-compliant vessel. Around the same time, CENTCOM announced that it had launched strikes against several locations inside Iran.
