Psychiatric Hospital in Tehran Damaged
WANA (Apr 04) – The head of Delaram Sina Psychiatric Hospital, Mohammad Asgari, said the facility sustained damage following U.S.-Israeli attacks, adding that full reconstruction will take between five to six months.
Mohammad Asgari stated that no patients or staff were injured, noting that the hospital had been operating at half capacity and patients were located on the opposite side of the blast.
He said the incident occurred around 11:00 p.m., adding that if it had happened during daytime hours when administrative staff were present, it could have resulted in casualties.
Asgari noted that the hospital is currently unable to operate and has been completely evacuated. He said partial restoration of services in two sections may take about one month, while full restoration across all departments will require five to six months.
Regarding financial damage, he said estimates are not yet available due to the Nowruz holidays, but assessments are expected to be completed within the next two days.
He added that the hospital is located on the western side of Fadaiyan-e Islam Street, Tehran, a residential area where the medical facility serves the local population.
