Qalibaf: “‘Death to America’ Is a Cry of Rationality Against Domination”
WANA (Nov 04) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, in his speech at the rally marking the National Day of the Fight Against Global Arrogance, described the November 4 as “not a historical event, but a living truth.” He said that on this day, the Iranian nation “declared once and for all that they will never accept domination and will stand firm against arrogance.”
Referring to the importance of independence in Iran’s foreign policy, Qalibaf stated: “A country that lacks independence has nothing—no national dignity, no national credibility, and no lasting progress.” He emphasized that independence is the cornerstone of national interests and that “the Iranian nation will never trade its independence for any concession or under any condition.”
Criticizing U.S. policies, Qalibaf said that “Washington’s hostility toward Iran did not begin with the takeover of the U.S. embassy; it started when the Iranian people decided to be their own masters and refused to let Western embassies make decisions for them.” He added that “the nature of the hegemonic system has not changed—the same mindset that existed in Carter’s administration against the Islamic Revolution continues today, only with more advanced tools.”

Pointing to the assassination of Iranian scientists and foreign sanctions, the Speaker noted: “They do not want to see a strong and independent Iran,” adding that “today, the deadly weapon of arrogance is the injection of despair and self-deprecation through its media empire.”
Regarding the slogan “Death to America,” Qalibaf said: “Do not think this slogan was created in a think tank; it is the outcry of suppressed anger from decades of subjugation. ‘Death to America’ means death to the logic of arrogance and domination—not death to nations. This slogan represents rationality in the face of tyranny.”

From the 1979 Embassy Takeover to the 12-Day War
WANA (Oct 04) – In his recent speech to Israeli military officials, Donald Trump declared: “We are ready whenever the Iranians are ready… our hand is open… they want to make a deal; it would be great if we could make one.” The statement was soon met with a firm response from the Leader of […]
Qalibaf stressed that the Islamic Republic speaks of “an alternative civilization,” not endless confrontation, adding: “We envision a world where no nation is sanctioned for its independence and no human being is threatened for their faith.” He described the path of the Islamic Revolution as “a path of moderation, strength, and wisdom—one that began with faith, continues with knowledge, and culminates in justice.”
The National Day of the Fight Against Global Arrogance is observed annually across Iran on the 13th of Aban. The day commemorates three historical events: the exile of Imam Khomeini in 1964, the killing of protesting students in 1978, and the takeover of the U.S. embassy in 1979. This year’s rallies were held nationwide with large participation from citizens, students, and officials under the slogan: “United and steadfast against arrogance.”
